On January 7, 2021, Nuvance Health announced that a second data security breach occurred in 2020 when unauthorized cybercriminals accessed and downloaded personal and confidential health information of patients.
The court has denied Health Quest’s motion seeking to dismiss the class action complaint. See Opinion and Order of the United States District Court of the Southern District of New York dated March 23, 2021 here. The case is now proceeding to discovery.
In May and October 2019, Health Quest disclosed that a data breach occurred in July 2018 when an unauthorized party, through a “phishing scheme,” gained access to certain employee email accounts that contained the personal and confidential health information of patients.
